Mrs. Winchester
It seems my way of dealing with the grief of the loss of my son, Tom, is to live in chaos of remodeling. If I keep projects buzzing around me, I won't have to dwell on the absence of my boy. Redo the hall bath, all new landscaping and driveway, put in more solar tubes, and now, the kitchen. What shall I do when the money runs out and I'm faced with my sorrow? I even got a new puppy! That keeps me busy too!

Mom's Favorite Rose Buds
This may seem a small moment....but Mom's roses are blooming. She planted them in the half barrels and always loved the tiny rosebuds when they appeared.I walk by them daily as I put the birds outside and it makes me feel closer to her. These tiny little buds are simple and beautiful. They were her favorites. I'm still hoping her gardening skills will surface within me.

Life Goes On

Hello!
Not sure if anyone ever checks this blog but I wanted to say hello and share some thoughts.
All goes well around here. I am kept busy with the bird business and Paul is here daily to work on his cars in the driveway. We both meet by the pond to catch up with each other's lives. The turtles are always calming.
Still looking for the right tenant for the Studio Apt but cannot be in a hurry. The right person will come along.

1073 Front Door and Elephants

Here are some new photos. Auntie Lou's Black Elephants sat on her mantle for years. I don't know the story behind them but they evoke fond memories of 68 Fairview! Now they reside at my foyer windows. Outside on the porch, my Japanese maple is leafing out and my "hobbit succulent" is getting bigger! If you know anything about the elephants, please leave a comment below! Thank you. gayleTuesday, March 31, 2009
Spingtime at 1073

Here are some photos of "other than birds"... The little turtle is a new addition! Like we didn't have enough to do! He is a Cooter and seems to get along well with the much larger female red-earred sliders. Althouh we've tried adding a male to this group twice and they disappear. This time, I added wire fencing to keep him from leaving the pond area. The shot of Moki is right after she had a bath...major ordeal you know!

Rainy Days
Boy, is it pouring here! I hope Tom and Karen are happy! That reservoir should be filled any minute! I had to drive this morning and the roads were all under 8" of water. Sirens blaring left and right... now I'm home and Paul is working on his car in the garage. Just like old times when my brother would be working on his car! I think there's still some metal flecks spinning around out there.
